The New Glarus Home, Inc., a retirement campus sits on the edge of one of southern Wisconsin’s most scenic and historic communities in the picturesque rolling terrain of Green County.
The Original Facility had eight charter residents with a capacity for 40 persons. Major expansion since the opening have included a doubling of the size of the nursing home, a chapel and activity center, a 22 unit independent living facility named Glarner Haus Retirement Village, and a most recent addition of 26 units of Assisted living. The campus had grown to 30 acres with 155 residents.
The New Glarus Home was founded in 1966 as a non-profit skilled nursing home, Licensed by the state of Wisconsin, and affiliated with the United Church of Christ as a human service ministry (Council of Health and Human Service Ministries (CHHSM). Also a member of the Wisconsin Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and the American Association of Homes for the Aging.

The Glarner Haus Apartments offer meaningful retirement living for those who desire independence while still having access to 24-hour-per-day emergency response services. Close to, but separate from the nursing home, residents are encouraged to share activities and companionship with the wider campus “family”. The two-story 22-unit structure built in 1982 features energy efficient 1- and 2-bedroom units with stove and refrigerator. Also included is an elevator and emergency call system.
