We welcome families and children. For new parents and parents with younger children, service can be more challenging and you may have some questions if you are new to join us. Hopefully we can answer your questions here and make you feel at ease before you join us for service.
Where can we go with children?
SSP cherishes the joy and wonder of children. You and your children are welcome to remain in the sanctuary. When entering the Sanctuary there are activity bags for children with a coloring sheet and children’s sermon sheet for them to use while sitting in the pew. We do offer a family room in the back of the church as well. It offers a viewing window and speaker so you can hear the service. The family room contains a couch, rocking chair, some toys, books and coloring books. You are also welcome to bring your children to the nursery where you can leave your child and return to the service.
Do you have Sunday School for Children?
Yes! Sunday school starts for children at the nursery age, 3 and goes through confirmation. Sunday school meets from 8:45 to 9:45 on Sunday mornings. Meet our teachers and learn more about our program by clicking here.
What if I need to change my child’s diaper?
There is a changing station in the unisex bathroom, with extra diapers and wipes.
What if I need to nurse my child?
Nursing mothers are welcome to nurse anywhere in the church including the sanctuary. If you would like a more private area to nurse we have many rooms that are not used during the service including the library, and meeting/kitchen room across from the library.
